FIRST TIME GUESTS
The best way to get to know New City Church is to visit. We want to invite you to join us for one of our Sunday services that start at 10:00am.
Like any good host, we want you to feel welcome and at home. We know that your first time at a church, any church, might bring up some questions. So feel free to ask us anything. You can do so by emailing us.
In the meantime, here are some answers to a few questions you might have before your first visit.
WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST?
Great question! We recommend the very first thing you do when planning to visit New City Church is to check our ncc.social. It’s our all in one communications hub!
This lets you see what sermon series we’re in, what events are going on, what groups are taking place, let’s you follow along with the message on Sunday, etc. Nice, right?
WHAT WILL SERVICES BE LIKE?
Each week we want you to be able to experience inspiring music, an encouraging message, and friendly people as part of your New City Church experience. The service typically runs about an hour, with complimentary coffee available in the lobby.
An average service starts with a greeting, then we sing two or three song, and maybe include a short video or two. We’ll continue to the sermon, usually follow it up with one more song, and conclude with some announcements. And once a month we take communion during the service.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
The service starts at 10am, and we suggest arriving a few minutes early to allow for parking, grabbing coffee, restrooms, etc.
We especially want you to be able to find a seat where you are most comfortable, and you’ll probably feel more acclimated to the room if you have a few minutes to adjust before the service begins.
DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR CHILDREN?
Absolutely! 6 weeks through 5th grade have their own activities designed especially for them in Little City, our children’s ministry environments. They’ll enjoy a worship experience which will engage them at their level. Of course, we don’t keep you from bringing children with you into the worship service if this is more comfortable on a first visit, but our experience is that they truly enjoy the service designed for them. Either way, we love when entire families join us.
If you have children in these age groups, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes in advance (of the 10am service) to get your children registered in Little City (because safety first!). Then you can head over to our lobby and grab some free coffee on your way to the service.
To make things even easier, you can pre register your children to speed up Sunday morning check in.
6th through 12th grades join us in the service.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
We’re way more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear to church. But so you’ll feel comfortable, know that most folks dress in casual weekend attire, and even the pastor will be wearing jeans. So dress comfortably and you’ll fit right in.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
New City Church meets at 8015 Creedmoor Road in North Raleigh. Click here for directions. And they’ll be plenty of signs to direct you as you arrive.
DO I HAVE TO GIVE AN OFFERING?
Not at all! In fact, we don’t even pass an offering plate during our services. Instead we provide offering boxes positioned conveniently on walls where people can give if they’d like. And many people use our online giving option as well.
And just so you’re in the know, our offerings support the full range of ministries we offer in the church, community, and around the world.
But again, as our guest, we just want you to come and get to know us, without feeling any pressure to have to give.
WILL I BE CALLED OUT AS A GUEST?
No, we’re not going to call you out, make you wave, stand up, or dance.
However, we’d like to encourage you to fill out a Connection Card that will be in the seat pocket in front of you. If you do, we’ll follow up with you via email. And we promise not to put any unfair pressure on you to ever come again. (Although being totally transparent, we hope you will!)
All first time guests receive a New City Church gift as our way of saying that we’re really glad you came. To pick yours up, drop by the First Time Guest tent after the service.
We’re excited you’re considering joining us. We can’t wait to meet you!
